What a Trip!!

Wow!! Nashville is such a fun place to visit!! I had NO idea I would like it so much. It had it's "dark side", but mostly we had alot of fun. Some of the highlights included: Country Music Hall of Fame, Musicians Hall of Fame, The Wildhorse Saloon and fried pickles, The Gaylord Opryland Resort, The Grand Ole Opry, and Coyote Ugly Saloon!! We spent a couple of hours at the halls of fame and had a tour of the Music City highlights...like famous "Studio B" where all kinds of stars recorded their music; I danced a couple of Country line dances at the Wildhorse Saloon and had (surprisingly yummy!) fried pickles; the resort we stayed at had a nice pool and all, but I only spent maybe 5 or 6 hours there...too much to do!! The Resort was unbelievable...I am not sure how many waterfalls it had INSIDE the resort, but at least 3!! It was huge...2000 rooms and only 6 floors, so you can imagine how big it really was!! One of the best resorts I have stayed at!!
Grand Ole Opry was OK, but one of my best memories was dancing on the bar at Coyote Ugly Saloon! Crazy, I know, but fun. If you know me at all, you know how much I love music and I love to dance, so this was great therapy for me!! It was a sort-of accident that we went in at all and as soon as I heard the music I sort of danced into the place. The girl on the bar saw me coming and made me get up there and dance with her. We had a member of a Stake Presidency with us (not ours, thank goodness!!) who is a CU EVP with his wife and another EVP and his wife and a CU League Director - obviously not the types to do this with me. I hope I didn't shock them all too bad.
Last night we had a chance to "bump" our ride home and we stayed in Nashville an extra night - paid by Delta. We were able to go back to dinner at The Old Spaghetti Factory. Bruce & I figured it out that we have been going there for about 34 years and have gone to factory's in 9 locations...some more than just a time or 2. It was fun to remember those times...that place means alot to us. Today it took us a CRAZY amount of time to get home, however. Our flight from Nashville to Atlanta was ok, but in Atlanta we were postponed almost 2 hours!! That is a long time in an airplane!!
We made it and are glad to be home, though!! Our puppy missed us and Spence even says he missed us!!That IS amazing, don't you think??
PS--Enjoy the photos. I have a hard time putting them in order...feel free to ask questions about any of them that you don't know about - or can't guess!!

It really sounds like you had fun! Ive heard from a few people that Nashville is kind of like Austin in some ways. Not sure what or how, but that is what they say!

34 years of spaghetti factories??? You guys must be OLD! :) Whenever I think of them I think of your friend who wired her mouth shut! Weird.
I'm so glad you had fun. Also glad Bruce got a picture of you dancing on the bar! And those piano key windows are cool!

We talked to alot of up-and-coming music stars who said Austin is the "new Nashville" now. Maybe that is what they mean!! Even our cab driver told us that!!
I remember Adair Tsalaky and her Dad owned the one in Spokane. He was a dentist and she was overweight. Fun memories!!
I was thinking how funny it is to compare our 2 vacation photos...maybe someday I will grow up and get a serious life...nah, probably not!

I just wouldn't let anyone take pictures of ME dancing on the bar! Doesn't mean it didn't happen!
