Independence Day!

Wow!! What a day! The night before I thought it was going to be a pretty boring day...
I was pleasantly surprised by everything we did...and I loved it all. We started out with the annual pancake breakfast at the Benson Grist Mill. Bruce is a regular at the grill and this year he was out of the house by 6...not me!! I stayed home until 8:30 and then went to eat and visit. I had had an injection into my shoulder and a "mole" removed (we don't know what it was...) the day before and it was pretty sore all night, so I just wanted to sleep! I got to eat with Allie, Sabrina & Lauryn and visit with friends so it started the day off just right. Then we went to the park by the High School in Tooele to watch Al & Bean perform - they were so cute!
We went shopping after and picked up what we were missing for our annual BBQ and then we picked up Bruno & GG and went to the movies...we went to the movie about the french rat who cooks - we all really liked it!
When we got home, we ate typical BBQ fare...hot dogs, rib eyes, chicken, salads, corn on the cob and fruit! We were too stuffed for dessert!! Then came the fireworks that Grampy INSISTED we get for the girls!! (He loves them, too, but he had to use the girls to get me to agree...) Those who don't know me very well, don't know how I hate loud noises, am afraid of fires in Utah and worry that my kids/grandkids will get hurt!! I have NEVER liked fireworks - unless they are followed by Tinkerbell on a wire!! I think everyone enjoyed them. Allie sat on my lap most of the time with her hands over her ears... a girl just like her Granny!!
I am thankful for this day. I love the freedom we have and the ability to do as we please

(within reason!). I love my family...including my extended one all over the country!! I hope you all had a great day!!

What's with the jackets and blankets?? It's the 4th of July! We may be rainy, but we're warm!
I love the artsy black and white picture! The girls are cute as always.

The jackets & blankets were more for the mosquitos than the temp! But, some were sunburned and you know how you get the chills after a day of sun!! The B & W was for effect, I wanted it to look like a boring night because it was!!!

It looks way too artsy to be borning! As for the mosquitos - I heard that if you put a dryer sheet in your pocket they will leave you alone. Haven't tried it yet, but I will!
