The best laid plans...yeppers, that's me. Sorry, folks!! My life is actually not too eventful and you'd think I could get this camera thing figured out, huh?? Well, I am moving on. Life is too short for this silliness!!
I haven't been too awfully crazy-busy, but have had some nice moments here and there.
Last night Bruce and I got to go listen to the concert in the Tabernacle on Temple Square by the "Nashville Tribute Band" . I have loved this music from the first time I heard it in 2005 at Deseret Book! They are the ones who did the Joseph Tribute CD and then the Pioneer Trek CD. Next year they are coming out with a Missionary Tribute CD that sounded pretty good! So excited!! It was an excellent concert in a beautiful place. Plus, Elder Gary Coleman sat down in front of us. He was Bruce's and my Seminary and Institute teacher and was in our Stake Presidency in Spokane. And, George Taylor was there...he was in our ward in Provo and was the founder of this groups' Mission President. Saw them, but didn't speak to them. Still good to see them, though.
We've been busy as well getting Mara acclimated to the area. It's a given she knows all the malls now!! She & I hiked to Ensign Peak and we did the Lion House...where there was a sister missionary from Brazil...YAY...and she gave Mara her own personal tour. We just walked around downtown Salt Lake and saw Brigham Young's grave. That's when I discovered she didn't know about polygamy in the early days of the church...yeah, I let the sister from Brazil explain that to her!! We have had little trips to Saltair and the SL marina, to Park City and a few other little odds and ends. It has been fun to show her around.
This weekend I am headed to Bryce Canyon on a trail ride to Butch Cassidy's hideout!! That will be a blast, I am sure. There will be about 30 women on the trail with me...what a sleepover!! I will post pictures of it when I get back!!
Conference was wonderful. The Spirit was really strong. It felt good. Pres. Holland kinda scared me...I have never seen a General Authority get so adamant/angry (that's not the right word...he wasn't angry, just forceful, I guess!) but what a strong testimony of the Book of Mormon. Spence got Mara tickets for her birthday to go to the Conference Center and she was crying from the time she got up because she was so excited. They had a wonderful experience there.
Well, that's all for now! I'll post some pics after my trip!!

You can't be behind when there's no deadline!! :) Sounds like good times. I hope you have the best time on your ride. You'll probably come home a little saddle sore!
It's just nice to hear from you whenever you post!
Sounds fun! I haven't even done all those things you've been doing. Thanks for the update!
That's so funny, you saw the nashville tribute band, those members are in my parents ward, well old ward (my folks just moved) I am so glad this band is doing well. They are like the FIRST (seriously) people who have been successful in the music business ever who has lived in my parents ward, and growing up, their were SO many who would come with high hopes and go back home broke. I am glad you both had a good time.
